Doing More

Family Room Before

FamilyRoom Currently
Well, here's the photo's of the family room. I painted this room 3 times trying to get the right color with the carpet. You can't see it from the picture, but this carpet has gray and tanish orange located in it. Not an easy thing to match without going crazy on the color. The couches will be replaced with new ones this month.
Onto the office today. I hope to paint-which I know I said wasn't happening, but I couldn't just leave the room as it was. Not after updating the rest of the house. I started on one wall-got crazy with it, and now it needs help. I'm okay to try something crazy every now and again, especially with paint, because I know I can change it if I don't like it. But other things, well, I'm a bit leery. That's my new word-leery.
Since our home in Houston sold, we still have the chance to buy the home in Forney. We're not sure about all the hoops being cleared when it comes to the finances-stupid mortgage industry-it wasn't this hard to verify your income 5 months ago and it wasn't this tight, but oh, well, I refer to my previous post. If it's going to be too hard (hit the wall) then it must not be what's right for us. We'll go forward and see. If we don't buy the house, Clint said we need to pick a spot on the US map and move there. Anyone want us for neighbors? OH, sorry those in Utah-we won't pick there. We will be happy to visit often, but not live there.
And, let's not forget it's tax time. With all the things going on, I normally would of had them done by now, but alas, I'm just now starting. Not to mention the fact that, all people who have sent us tax information that we need have not been notified of our current PO Box address. Hopefully he will take care of the last of them, busy guy. (You can guess who I'm referring to without mentioning names, right?) Hence, another reason to finish the office! I know I have until April 14th. Dad is so busy every year that he isn't able to do his taxes until April 15th. (He might start them earlier, but I remember many of trips to the downtown post office to make sure it was posted by midnight.) Check out this Hallmark e-card for a big laugh. I found it last year and sent it to all my siblings and mother. I laughed harder than I had in such a long time (so did my mother). Check it out and see if you know anyone like this...maybe it's you.... (check out the tax one before the others) http://www.hallmark.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/category4%7C10001%7C10051%7C127053%7C147551;-102001;11443;127053%7Cecards%7CScreaming%20Banshee

It's official.....SOLD......On the Lord's Time
Well, our latest news is that we have sold our home in Houston. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
And I really mean sold, not just a contract-signed papers on Friday, over-nighted them and the buyers signed yesterday. We didn't tell anyone-so don't feel left out. After all the fall throughs on the other 2 contracts we figured Murphy's law might be working on us. Well, and the Lord's timing too-now we know. So we didn't say anything and didn't believe anything (still having hope) was final until it was truely finished. We are officially homeless. Oh, now I need to call and cancel all the utilities, insurance, etc. Well, I'd better get crackin.
But I must say (again and again) that the Lord's timing is the best. Dont' fight it if it's not working. This last contract was better for us financially than the 2nd one. AND interest rates have dropped again since that last contract-all things in our favor. Not to mention all the work I have been able to do in my parents home to help them get their house in order-aesthetically. It's all good! Pray about everything and let the Lord work for you.

Friendship, Friendship, dada da da, Friendship, Friendship
Did you ever see that I love Lucy show where Lucy and Ethel sang the 'Friendship' song? Well, I just read a friends blog site about friends and I thought I just post my feelings on the subject.
As those of you who know me best, know that I am a person who likes to be around people most of the times, but then there are the times that I just need to be by myself. I used to attribute it to my astrological sign of Scorpio, but after talking with a sibling of mine, I think it's more related to how we grew up.
Anyway, I believe that true friendship is a wonderful thing and feel very blessed to have friends in my life. The people I consider true friends are the ones that I don't need to talk to every day or every week to get the update on what's going on. We can talk every few months, once a year, or several times in a month and then take a break. We somehow keep up a way to connect with each other and desire to know what's going on, but we can always pick up from the last time we talked. We talk about ourselves, our lives, our viewpoints on life. We don't take our precious time to talk about other people and their lives.
Well, that's my thoughts. Now on to my day. I actually tackled the office yesterday since I knew I could accomplish that without mom around-the kitchen she needs to be around for. It's looking good, I just have to figure out why their video phone doesn't work now-lack of power. I'll post pictures later. I think part of my picture problem is the location of the pictures. I use my laptop for the internet, but the pictures are on my mom and dad's computer. Thanks for the encouragement Teandra.

What I've been doing
Here's some photos for all you that have asked for them. We don't own a digital camera and after the hour it took to load these photos I'm almost glad we don't! Maybe I'll try to video the final look and hope that they won't take so long. :) We're not done yet, just a few little things like lights in the entry to highlight my dad's pictures (he painted all of them), oh, and the new furniture we ordered. When that comes in I'll post pictures of the family room and the living room with the new chairs. For now it's on to the kitchen (after all the color we've added to the house we couldn't leave that room white so... more painting :) ), and yes on to the office which is the room that was suppose to be the only one we were to do originally. Funny how it'll be the last one we finish. ENJOY!!
